Shriver and Holland Associates developed a preplanning study for the expansion and modernization of an existing 25,776-square foot regional passenger terminal. In response to the planning forecast, the firm developed an expansion plan presenting several design concepts to expand and modernize the passenger terminal to over 50,000 SF, and to set the framework for future phases of expansion. The design provides defined departure and arrival passenger flows as well as expanded ticketing and baggage claim lobbies, boarding lounge space, a restaurant, a bar, and retail and food service areas. Landside planning provided an analysis of public parking operations and subsequent planning for improved parking, circulation systems and vehicular flow. Airside improvements include the extension of the concrete apron and provision for second level boarding.
