Ballentine Home Facility Addition/Renovation
  SHRIVER AND HOLLAND ASSOCIATES
Shriver and Holland Associates assessed, planned, and designed renovations needed for improved senior living at the 1952 Ballentine Facility, which maintained the Georgian style in which it was originally constructed. The first phase includes a 13,200 S.F., two-story addition that adds 24 new resident rooms, two resident kitchens, two laundry rooms, and an elevator. Each new resident room is equipped with a kitchenette unit designed for small appliances. Two fireplaces and a coffered ceiling in the new 1,000 S.F. lobby and commons area contributes to a warm and spacious seating and receptions area for residents and visitors. The existing dining room received a 560 S.F. addition improving service and comfort for building residents. Existing corridors and public restrooms received face-lifts to match new finishes; two new ADA compliant guest restrooms replaced the existing guest restrooms; and the disabled are provided with access to all public areas, including the garden.
