This new 1200 student middle school is organized around a central commons area that features a three-story high atrium. The building follows a middle school concept and is arranged in "clusters" separating each grade into "houses," independently supported by offices and restrooms. A relatively compact plan offers a number of economies, both in terms of energy conservation and in initial building costs. The school includes a 450 seat auditorium, music and art classrooms, and state-of-the-art voice, video and data telecommunications technologies networked to all program areas.
