Shriver
and Holland Associates prepared a programming and planning study for the renovation
and modernization of this 1938 building. The scope of work included 142,000
SF of expansion and modernization of 150,000 SF to bring the existing colonial-style
building into current code compliance and technologically equipping it for the
21st century. Features include business, mathematics, art, and foreign language
computer labs, a fully equipped library media center, and a television production
studio. Granby High School also has the advantage of a multimedia retrieval
system that allows all instructional spaces to have access to various forms
of audio and video. With an enrollment of 1,800 students, special emphasis went
into the establishment of the academy concept that allows students and teachers
the opportunity to be involved in smaller settings. Livas Group Architects,
