Middle School Expansion and Modernization Study
SHRIVER
AND HOLLAND ASSOCIATES
The
Blair Middle School Study compared benefits of two alternative schemes for a
900-student middle school. One scheme was based on new construction and the
other reviewed renovation and addition options to the existing building, built
in 1921. The study investigated existing conditions, design concepts, construction
phasing analysis, and cost estimates to establish the owner's budget for each
scheme. Each scheme responded to educational specifications that outlined specific
functional and space requirements and incorporated input from a series of facilitated
community presentations.
