SHRIVER
AND HOLLAND ASSOCIATES
Shriver
and Holland Associates has worked with Virginia Wesleyan College since its inception
beginning with comprehensive master planning for a totally new coeducational,
church related, liberal arts college on a 300 acre, lake front site. Initial
services included assistance in the selection of site and preparation of educational
and architectural programming to accommodate an ultimate enrollment of 1400
students. The planning concept is directed toward the academic village concept
employed by Thomas Jefferson at UVA after the Oxford/Cambridge models. Since
1962, Shriver and Holland has provided master plan updates and full architectural
services for numerous campus buildings and site development projects.
