This 89,600 SF. multi-purpose convocation and sports complex accommodates the university's health, physical education and ROTC teaching programs and provides for major university sports and public events. The building design is developed around a flexible central sports arena, providing two basketball courts for practice or a single court for spectator events. The arena seats approximately 9,000, with concession services located on the intermediate level of each quadrant of seating. A telescoping seat system is utilized to allow ground level practice court area expansion and upper level teaching area expansion for wrestling, dance, exercise and similar programs. Ground level entrances at each corner of the building and the center of the west face provide access to classrooms, faculty offices, and support spaces, including men and women's locker rooms for student and team use.
