Since
the development of the first comprehensive master plan in 1965, Shriver and
Holland Associates has worked with Norfolk State University in the development
of the orderly expansion of the campus now serving a student body of over 7,000.
Original master planning for this urban campus provided an initial and long
range growth and land acquisition plan for a 130-acre campus based on a comprehensive
feasibility study, preliminary engineering report and cost analysis. This plan
included an analysis and projection of building requirements; determination
of present and future land acquisition requirements; analysis and coordination
of principal vehicular access, streets and drives; and landscaping and overall
site improvements. Continuing service includes periodic reviews and updating
to incorporate revisions driven by program changes.
