  SHRIVER AND HOLLAND ASSOCIATES
The addition of a new wing to house the Jean Outland Chrysler Library was included in renovations of the Chrysler Museum of Art. The library's main purpose is to support the research activities of the Museum with a collection that is non-circulating and in closed stacks. The reading room is designed with ample seating and study areas to support extensive internal use of materials. The library's collection includes 45,000 volumes. Since art reference materials are generally larger than others; as part of full architectural and interior design services, Shriver and Holland Associates designed much of the casework and shelving to accommodate the wide ranged sizes of books from standard to elephant portfolios. There is also a display area for current issues of more than 200 art periodicals and auction catalogs.
