Entrance Feature

The
18 ft. diameter globe has been planned as an entrance feature and central element
of visitor pickup and drop off area at the main entrance of Nauticus National
Maritime Center. It will utilize a system of stainless steel latitude and longitude
bars with textured stainless steel continents affixed. A functional axis is
employed, allowing adjustable globe rotation speeds for either one revolution
per minute or one revolution per hour. It will be positioned above a circular
pool with provision to be lit after dark.
