Located
on the north shore of the Lafayette River, this 6,700 SF brick residence owned
by Mr. and Mrs. Walter Kelley was designed and built in a classic Georgian colonial
style reminiscent of other homes similarly built prior to the Civil War along
the nearby James River. The first floor incorporates an east wing accommodating
a first floor bedroom suite and a kitchen family room with river views to the
south and a garage service area. Stands of old growth pine and live oak trees
were preserved and now define the house and gardened lawns.
