SHRIVER
AND HOLLAND ASSOCIATES
Shriver
and Holland Associates provided planning and design for this new 250-unit family
housing complex and community center. The complex is sited to maximize natural
day lighting into the living areas of all units. Each housing unit includes
a combination living and dining area with access to a south or west facing exterior
balcony or sheltered patio. The complex has many Icelandic architectural features
including design for high sustained wind, rain and snow conditions, concrete
construction, wood frame windows and colorful roofs. Sit orientation and planning
invite daylight especially during long hard winter season.
